Going through folder organizing in comp
I found this jpg of a page Cj and I worked on for a TALES OF THE CRYPT story .

In this story , published in the first Tales of the Crypt (new volumes) about a year ago , the stylization was pushed , because we thought it would go better with the dreamy/ghosty/but still high fashion feeling we were going for .

I like the nice bright colors yet a little eerie + creepy feel Cj gave it.

James Jean + PRADA , Murakami + Vuitton

Following the Tokidoki/Le sport Sac trend of graphic artists blending in to fashion , Fables comics artist James Jean , designs and conceptualizes for Prada.
Prada collaborated with the Los Angeles-based illustrator James Jean to create the woodland backdrop for the show, as well as the wallpaper for the Prada Epicenter stores in New York and Los Angeles.
Versions of the prints then appeared in a fairyland’s worth of diaphanous fabrics printed with wood nymphs and flowers.

Murakami as we all know (?) has been designing for graphics for Vuitton bags for some time . ( Seems like former USSR president Mikhail Gorbachev joined the line of celebrities in advertisement ..?)

Sita Sings The Blues + Idiots and Angels

"Sita sings the Blues" and "Idiots and Angels" are both animated features made almost completely by one person , the first by Nina Paley, in 5 years while working as a teacher in Parsons NY ,and the second by Bill Plimpton ( I-do-it -all animated feature maker , has made several features this way and multiple shorts)...in a mere 2.5 (?) years .

Sita Sings the Blues is a musical, animated personal interpretation by Nina Paley of the Indian epic the Ramayana.
The aspect of the story that she focuses on is the relationship between Sita and Rama, who are gods incarnated as human beings.
The story ties in with the film's second narrative in the movie : her own personal real life story of a failed marriage....Relationship issues transcends time and place ...
The movie , has been all designed-animated-written by herself using flash (software) and mac computers.

Idiots and Angels is about a man who grows wings that makes him do good things , he hates them and wants to get rid of them .

Both movies now premiering in most major film and animation festivals !
Very inspiring pair ~!

Legends of Style 2008 show , Boston Center for the Arts

Legends of Style are back @ Boston Center for the Arts , saturday april 26 !

Massive urban art event of the year !
With over 225 works from usa emerging artists , Legends of Style is one of the top art events in the country.

This is my second year participating , I 'll have about 10~12 pieces in this show .
